The HAIRY BIKERS’ COOKBOOK
The Hairy Bikers’ Cookbook is a culinary global adventure fronted by two Northern mates on motorbikes. Simon King and Dave Myers take us to places most of us have never been before, cook the local food, and serve it up with humour that makes you laugh out loud. A new series is currently in production.

The Hairy Bikers’ Cookbook is a co-production with VIXPIX Films Ltd.

The first two series are going out in the Spring of 2006.

What the papers are saying...
“Meet the bikers who are set to be the foodie hit of 2006… They’re big, tough Northern bikers, but a shared passion for cooking on the road will make them the gourmet pin-ups of 2006...”
The Observer Food Monthly, December 2005

“The Hairy Bikers’ Cookbook [is] all about wild eating experiences – think Peter Fonda and Dennis Hopper but with better barbecuing skills… While neither is a chef what the two lack in expertise, they make up for in enthusiasm.”
Olive, January 2006

“Forget Gordan Ramsay and his Hell’s Kitchen – these Hell’s Angels are the hottest things in TV cooking.”
Closer, 14th January 2006

“When biker Dave Myers met Si King, little did the hirsute duo know that their passion for food, motorbikes and travel would make them quite the quirkiest chefs to grace our TV screens… Now the nation is to be introduced to their quirky brand of peripatetic cookery in a new BBC2 series the Hairy Bikers’ Cookbook, a mix of culinary adventure and travelogue, spiced with their own earthy humour… [Dave] and Si are the latest among a legion of small-screen cookery stars, but unlike many of their predecessors, they were neither manufactured nor discovered… Their banter throughout the programmes is the easy joshing of old friends… And, unlike the battalions of smooth TV chefs who have preceded them, The Hairy Bikers cook outdoors, with rudimentary equipment; often in the most dire conditions… ‘And the message is,’ adds Si, ‘If we can cook something appetising on the side of a road with no running water or electricity – you can certainly do it at home.  It’s an invitation to give it a go.”
Daily Mail Weekend, 7th January 2006

“The Hairy Bikers’ Cookbook (BBC2) is not so much a breath of fresh air as who left the bleeding door open… They immediately struck a bruising blow for originality by starting the series in Namibia… I have rarely come across anyone more appreciative of their own efforts (“Bloody hell, man, that’s fabulous…brilliant…superb!”)… Their ease in front of the TV camera is probably down to their previous existence behind it. They met when Dave was make-up and prosthetics and Si locations manager on, charmingly enough, a Catherine Cookson shoot.”
